Dear FuturePAC Member,
Economic development issues affecting our region will be influenced by key elections this year, including statewide elected offices, regional and state legislative races, and economic development initiatives. The Capital Region Legislative Delegation has grown from twenty-six to thirty members as a result of the redistricting process and will be a key player at the Capitol due to its leadership and strength in numbers. We will also see several new faces within the Delegation due to term limits, members seeking other elected offices, new legislative seats, and overall election results. The business community needs to weigh in on who will serve as our voice at the State Capitol.
Those individuals interested in pursuing an elected office will qualify for office during the period of September 6th – 8th. The primary election is October 22nd and the general election is November 19th. FuturePAC will be actively engaged in the 2011 election cycle and may support a candidate in one or more ways: (1) contributing to the candidate's campaign fund; (2) publicizing FuturePAC's endorsement, or (3) providing advice on campaign organization and strategy. FuturePAC will continue to need your financial support and the support of others to make a significant impact during the upcoming election season. Please contribute to FuturePAC online at www.futurepac.biz and encourage a colleague, family member, or friend to contribute as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erin Monroe Wesley at erin@brac.org. |
